Wife found this gem for our two nights in wine country and what a place! Beautiful views. Full apartment like amenities. Walking distance to several wineries. The manager was friendly and helpful. Can even pick up a bottle of local wine from the lobby or borrow a DVD. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.
This is the best (and priciest) place we stayed so far in NZ. The views are amazing and the location is great, close to all the vineyards. My kids played/talked with Alexa all day.
Very disappointed with Vintners Retreat - We had a booking for 3 nights but cancelled due to the Marlborough Lines Classic Fighters Airshow being cancelled. I messaged and explained our circumstances - they replied they needed to charge a cancellation fee and we should have taken "Travel insurance" . Not entirely sure anyone provides travel insurance for a trip within your own island - I could be wrong - but anyway they charged $720 cancellation fee - I spoke to several motel owners, and they said this would not be their policy at all, I would have been happy to pay $200 but $720 is outrageous . I will not encourage anyone to book to stay here . Hugely disappointed. $720 is a lot of hard earned money, gone.
