Vital und Wellness Hotel Basler Hof

My first inclination is to keep this treasure secret and tell you not to stay here, BUT that would be a lie. This hotel was FANTASTIC. The rooms were nice and a very reasonably sized. The staff was like staying with extended family (and speaks great English). The wellness area was perfect and had a huge variety of saunas and options for relaxation. The dinner restaurant and breakfast were spectacular. If I could, I'd move into the hotel as a full time resident. We WILL definitely be going back.

What a beautiful place! We are in Europe for the first time and my family name is Lauterbach so we had to come visit. We are so happy to have found this lovely place to stay. The spas and pool are so relaxing. We had good conversation with the owners and are grateful for their patience as we only spoke English. Breakfast was delicious. We will be back!! Thank you again for everything!

We booked this on Booking and the transaction didn’t go through. We called and figured it out over the phone. We were very excited because of the good reviews and even made a dinner reservation. However after driving for 1 1/2 hours we were informed at the desk that they don’t allow babies. We have a 2 month old who is very quiet (also we are traveling with her bed) and still they “make no exceptions”. Now we are hungry sitting in the parking lot in the rain trying to book a place to sleep because we are not welcome, not even to dine. Everything else close by 3x more expensive this last minute. Would be better if this was made more explicit or there was more to empathetic staff to help us find something to else.
