Vitruvius Smart Hotel & Spa

Excellant hotel in the heart of Athens just a short stroll to monastraki square. Very nice breakfast with great choices. Room is very comfortable. Would highly recommend staying here at the moment. Step out from hotel and you have every thing at your fingertips

The rooms themselves were nice. I did struggle with the "smart" features for the first day and a half. Then they suddenly worked fine and actually made the room fun. However, the service was top notch. Early on, they walked with me to my room to try to help me figure out how to make anything work without the smart phone app :) But when i was leaving with my poor now broken down suitcase (handle doesn't extend and wheels all but disintegrated on this trip) they made sure i knew a quicker way to the station that i had asked about .. and then the man at the front desk even helped me with my suitcase and walked me to the semi hidden closer entrance! He have me great tips about catching the right (direct) train to the airport which i then got to pass on to other travelers who almost hopped on the train that would have required a change! The breakfast had many many choices... Which actually wasn't the best for me.. I'm a picky eater and need more plain options... But for foodies they would have been stoked! The shower was definitely interesting as it worked by button pushing... Not really sure how to explain it but it was also a little fun. There were slippers and a robe provided along with a tasty welcome drink that i was sad to hear you couldn't purchase more of. Location was a 2-3min walk from one of the main square/stations one would visit as a tourist, which made getting around easy both by foot and by Metro if needed.

The hotel has an awesome location, just in the tourist center of the ciry. The room was nice, stylish, well equipped. Everything clean and organized. However the food at breakfast leaves much to be desired: the choice was narrow, there were no fresh eggs option, that you get on the spot cooked for you, the choice of vegetables was poor, there was no fish for breakfast, and no menu to order from. That is not what you expect from a 5 star hotel. In addition, all the 3 days of our stay there there were constant problems with shower: the water temperature was jumping from very cold to extremely hot. That was super annoying taking into account the Greek heat wave this July.
