Amazing Family Resort – Perfect for Traveling with Kids! We had a fantastic stay at Viva Cala Mesquida Spa & Resort as a family — my husband, our daughter, and I absolutely loved it. It’s the perfect place for a relaxing and fun family vacation. The hotel is incredibly well set up for children. There’s a great kids’ club, children’s pools, a playground, and a wonderful entertainment team that keeps the little ones engaged throughout the day. Our daughter had a blast and was always looking forward to the activities. What really stood out for us was the mini buffet in the main restaurant — designed specifically for kids! It’s set at their height and features colorful plates, cups, and cutlery. Our daughter loved being able to choose her food on her own, and it really encouraged her independence. Such a thoughtful and fun touch! We highly recommend this resort to any family traveling with children. Everything is made with families in mind, and we would absolutely return without hesitation! 💛

👍The food, drinks and all the amenities were excellent. The beautiful (enough shallow and sandy) beach enabling a bit of snorkelling is close and no need to cross the street. It’s a hotel mainly for families, but couples can enjoy it too (or switch to its “adults only” version nearby. It’s possible to do the laundry and dry it with coins or by card. 👎The water in the bathroom was a bit salty – at such quality hotel it should be normal or well filtered out. Also the pillows were a bit inconvenient (narrow and solid). There should be a beach bar available for free also for all inclusive, not just selection club upgrade.

The best thing about this resort is the staff, they truly are exceptional, delivering friendly service and going out their way to resolve problems. They always had a smile and asked how things were. The pools are also pretty decent, warm, big and a variety for all ages, if you can get a lounger that is, that's about it though unfortunately. Room cleaning missed on 3 of the 7 days, we had to call and visit reception multiple times and it did eventually get resolved. Lounge reserving is bad here too, mainly germans , as most of the guests seem to be German, reserve beds from 7am. The hotel does remove them after 30 mins , and I did see this happening, which provided great entertainment to watch, but it was mainly in the morning and didnt continue though the day, so no beds just a sea of empty loungers with orange towels on them. Food was questionable at times, breakfast was good and snacks from pool bar really good but the buffet at lunch and dinner was basic, a selection of premade salads, which looked nice but didn't taste so good and basic cuts of meat, which were very undercooked at time, I found raw fish, pork and chicken on most days. Food was nearly always cold. Water in the taps in the room also very questionable, didn't drink intentionally but when brushing teeth and showering was a noticeable salty tasty. All three in our room had GI upset both during our stay and upon returning home. Entertainment was also a bit odd, every night until about 2130 it consists of a kids disco, playing the same songs every night, followed by an adult show. The odd thing is, the stage is in the bar area, so if you want to have a drink after dinner (you'll need it to stomach it) , your forced to endure the kids disco, there is an indoor bar but this was closed for the duration of our stay, which again was odd as it was peak season. Most people seemed to just give up and go to bed after dinner unless if they had kids. Finally rooms, they are of a decent size, bathroom very small though and tatty, beds were so uncomfortable I was tempted to sleep on a pool bed outside, like rock solid, two singles pushes together to make a double, but with no topper and separate sheeting, plus your usual sausage pillow. Being extra picky, they were just cheap, fixtures and fittings weren't level, the sink tap couldn't be opened all the way due to a shelf, every individual light had it's own separate switch, TV in bedroom was from the 00s, no light in the kitchen without having the loud extractor fan on, and the biggest headache was noise. Noise travelling from the corridor and from the outside area, if you want an early night, and are a light sleeper good luck before 2300. So if you've got kids this is probably a great resort as the benefits for kids outweigh the negatives but if your an adult, try somewhere else.
