voco Edinburgh Royal Terrace

A nice hotel in a refurbished row of units. The reception & restaurant area looks great. But the rooms can be better. Seems like not much tought to make it look and feel better. Water stains. Also the back room view of the garden, the garden should be keep tidy.

Great desk staff, great location. The manager Robert is incredible. The only area for improvement would be housekeeping, which is marginal. I cannot say enough about the kind Warm hospitality of the hotel staff. Molly at the front desk is also superb. Rooms are clean, and the hotel is beautiful with a fabulous location. The breakfast is awesome. Again, if there is any room for improvement, it would be housekeeping. I would stay here again. We had to make multiple requests for items like shower gel and towels/toilet paper. Thank you for a wonderful stay overall.

We stayed at voco for just one night while waiting for our room at another place to be ready, and I’m honestly so relieved it was only one night. Our room was located on the -1 floor, which smelled musty and felt old and uninviting. One of our room keys didn’t work at all, so we had to call someone to unlock the door for us every time, very inconvenient. No one offered to help us with our luggage, and we had five large bags that we had to drag ourselves. They did offer us free breakfast, which was a nice gesture, but overall, the experience was disappointing and far from what we expected.
