VOI Essentia Tropea Beach

Best way to describe the place is "pleasant". It's not a deluxe or luxury resort, but clean and well done. Staff is friendly and accommodating. The rooms are simple, but clean and in good condition. Food is very good, buffet style, with decent range of dishes, with a nod to local Calabrian food and style. My family and I enjoy good food and we've not been disappointed yet. The guests are European vacationers of all ages, and families. It was a good choice for our family vacation.

In short, 10/10. Beautiful beach, sea, comfortable and clean rooms, friendly staff, very delicious food. The hotel is located on the sandy beach with gravel, you will need shoes to get in the sea. You need to know that on the coast there is nothing except hotels and a few small food trucks. If you go up the hill (25 min on a walk), there is a train station with a supermarket nearby. 2 stations and you can visit Tropea city. The hotel offers breakfast, lunches, and dinners. And I recommend taking half board or full board. The breakfast buffet can get boring in 7 days, but everything is there: pancakes, eggs, sausages… delicious dinners: a lot of fish, seafood, pasta, and good wine. There were two and a half people who spoke English in the hotel, but it wasn't a problem, everybody was nice. Rooms, or rather houses (or bungalows), were clean and cozy. It was great to sit in front of the house like on a terrace. Wifi is more than okay. The hotel also offers some entertainment after dinner, usually live music (for peculiar taste, of course, but it's still great). The good thing is that even though some loud music is near the bar, you can still sleep in silence. It was a fantastic vacation, thank you VOI Tropea Essentia.

We stayed there for two nights of our honeymoon. The place is beautiful! Surrounded by the mountain and the beach. Amazing sunset, the beach takes all the credit. The hotel is very clean, you have many activities included in the price to enjoy: padelboard, kayak, padel, tennis, almost like an all inclusive! Breakfast and one meal were included on the price. It makes sense, because you need a car in order to find any other place to eat. Overall it was a very pleasant experience but there are two things you should know that you're not told upon arrival: First of all, is that you're assigned a table at the restaurant and you're supposed to have all your meals at that table for THE REST OF YOUR STAY! It's quite insane, a lot of guests were complaining about this, I hope they change it soon because it is a shame to get a bad review because of this. Secondly, At the beach, you also have to book in advance to get the first row seating. This should also be first come first serve, and we were not told about it until we got to the beach the first day.
