W Los Angeles West Beverly Hills

I've stayed at this hotel a couple of times over the years, and each time I'm happily surprised by all the little details. First, it's on a quiet street, just a block or two away from the Botanic Gardens. The entrance is covered in well manicured ivy, and all the landscaping gives a really lush feel that also extends into the pool area, giving the outdoor common areas a sense of privacy. The rooms feel a little bigger than your standard LA hotel, with plantation shutters instead of curtains, making it easy to open or close. Each nightstand has a wireless phone charger, multiple power outlets and USB plugs -- one of my pet peeves is when a hotel doesn't provide this little amenity, and this hotel handles it well. They currently don't have an on-site restaurant, so they are providing coffee and pastries for free in the morning, and they have a list of recommended restaurants within a 10 min walking distance. Overall, I always enjoy my stay, the staff are always helpful and polite, the rooms are nice, and I always feel like they deliver on what I expect from a W brand hotel.

Pros: - Rooms are modern, clean, and spacious - Exceptional service. Staff are really friendly and helpful. All calls to the front desk are answered immediately and staff arrive at the door within a few min, including an engineer to check the AC at 1am - Walking distance to restaurants - Pretty reasonably priced for the area Cons - No blackout blinds - No food or beverage service for July / August 2025 due to restaurant changes, but they serve free coffee and pastries in the lobby in the morning (needs more chocolate croissants)

Stayed over five days and had a great overall experience. DJ, the porter, stood out with exceptional service—genuine and professional. While a few front desk staff seemed less engaged, it may have been an off day. The location-to-price ratio is excellent, with restaurants nearby and easy access to Westwood and Beverly Hills. The gym is well-equipped, the pool small but functional. Rooms are spacious and clean, though a light refresh—especially the wallpaper—would help. The second bed in the Fabulous Suite was unusually squeaky. Overall, a solid stay with minor areas for improvement. I would return and recommend it for anyone visiting the area.
