On arrival, we were treated to a glass of champagne which was unexpected but very much appreciated! The kids were also offered juice. We received an upgrade which was awesome. The service throughout our 3 night stay was exceptional. The food in the Lollo restaurant was unfortunately underwhelming. However the staff more than made up for it! The manager explained the kitchen was being renovated and they were ferrying food from 3 floors down which obviously impacted on how the food was presented - cold, dry and not overly tasteful. The crab linguine however was beautiful!! The location was fantastic - right on the tram line. The gym was awesome too - we used it every day as a family (we have older teenagers). We will definitely be back to stay when we next visit Melbourne.
First time staying at the W Melbourne but we have stayed at the W in Sydney and loved it so we were excited to stay here! From the second we arrived we just loved the overall vibe. The staff are all so lovely and the manager was incredible upgrading us to the WOW suite and it really was wow! As it was a very special occasion and we were spending two nights this was just such a lovely surprise! The room itself was insanely spacious I could have happily moved in. I love the modern interior it’s quite refreshing from some of the overpriced old Melbourne hotels we have on offer. Couldn’t fault anything in this room from the heated toilets, bathroom amenities, shower and bath with a beautiful city view. Bed is super comfy. You can Bluetooth your phone super quick to the tv so we loved getting ready and listening to our own music. Room service food was delicious. Pool was a nice temp not too cold! Also loved the location as it was a brisk walk to all our favourite restaurants and shopping! We would definitely stay again!!
I’m a bit unsure how to write this review, but here are my honest thoughts: ⭐️ 3 for the housekeeping service. Why? Because during my stay from July 16th to July 20th, my room was not properly cleaned. It seemed like the linen sheets were not changed, the bathroom trash was not taken out even though the tissue had piled up, and the used towels were not replaced with clean ones. The room was not vacuumed either. I had clients with me who like to leave tips, and even though the tip was taken, the room was still not properly cleaned. After complained to front office, my room is deep-cleaned on the last 1-2 nights before my departure. I've checked out on July 22. ⭐️ 5 for the front office and concierge team. They were very responsive and helpful in handling the issues both my clients and I experienced with the room, baggage storage, and overall service during check-in and check-out. Special thanks to the concierge manager (whose name I unfortunately forgot) and Mr. Kevin from the front office team. Big appreciation for them! ⭐️ 5 for Barbara from the F&B service team at Lollo Restaurant. She was very helpful in arranging additional breakfast on our last day before our group checked out. Barbara was quick to assist and very friendly—unlike some of the younger waitresses. Please give extra appreciation to Barbara, Kevin, and the front office team. Keep up the good work!
