W Minneapolis The Foshay

My recent weekend stay at the W Minneapolis - The Foshay was excellent! We absolutely loved the hotel's prime location in downtown Minneapolis, making it super convenient to explore the area. We enjoyed delicious breakfasts daily at Keys Restaurant, which was a great start to our mornings. It was also a huge plus to have a Target just a short walk away for any forgotten essentials. The area felt very safe, and the valet team was always present and helpful. Our room itself was wonderfully large and spacious – perfect for relaxing after a day of sightseeing. Highly recommend!

Booked a three night stay for a Marvelous Suite at the Foshay, but at check in, was given a Fabulous Suite when I arrived at my room. Both are kind of similar, but the Marvelous suite is slightly bigger. I went down to the front desk about the mistake, but they told me that they had no more Marvelous suites for the night. It wasn’t a big deal to me, so I stuck with my smaller suite even though I paid for the bigger one. The room itself was clean, and the decor was nice. Bathroom was the highlight! Nice rain showers and tub, and very spacious. Housekeeping cleaned my room every day, which was a very nice touch. However, the electricity in the room had issues. Light fixtures would constantly flicker in the dining area, and this continued onto our 3 nights. The door to the bedroom had damage to it that went unfixed. Overall I think the property needs some maintenance done to it. TVs aren’t smart TVs, so you cant play any streaming services.

4-star hotel with 2-star quality. Reeked of cigarettes in the first room I was in. Things were missing- random toiletries, towels, the tv remote... asked for a room change and got a room with scuffed doors with peeling paint, holey sheets, and the horrible smell of weed that never let up. You'll find hair and the false eyelashes of the past guest all over your room. The water here stinks, so make sure you have your own to drink before arriving. Heard other guests complaining about little brown bugs in their room. Watch out. The staff is friendly. I don't think it's worth complaining to them about the damage their guests are doing behind closed doors. Just know that you're better off at a hotel with much cheaper rates.
