W Taipei is truly one of the most exceptional and unique luxury hotels in the city, especially following its major renovation last year. The refreshed design reflects the new W Hotel 2.0 aesthetic — still vibrant and energetic, but with a more refined, luxurious, and contemporary atmosphere. It feels less like a party hotel and more like a stylish social hub for a youthful yet discerning crowd who appreciates design, comfort, and high-end service. I stayed in the Fantastic Suite with a Taipei 101 view, and it lived up to its name in every way. It’s a corner suite with a super unique layout — the bed faces a stunning view of Taipei 101 with a deep soaking tub placed right in front of it, letting you enjoy the skyline from both the bath and the bed. I spent hours simply relaxing there. The suite also features a generous separate living area, perfect for unwinding or entertaining. The signature W Hotel bed was plush and cozy — it felt like sleeping on a cloud. During my stay, I had the chance to view the Extreme WOW Suite (presidential suite), which was on another level altogether. It’s a bi-level penthouse that feels more like a luxurious New York loft than a hotel suite. Located just below the rooftop restaurant and bar, it offers jaw-dropping views of the city and Taipei 101 through its double-height windows. The space includes a private sauna, jet tub, spinning bike area, wine cellar, kitchenette, and formal dining space, along with a dramatic staircase leading to the master bedroom. There’s even an option to connect it with another guestroom — it’s the kind of suite that would easily host an intimate high-end gathering. I also had an incredible French set dinner at Season by Olivier E., the hotel’s main restaurant. It was refined and elegant.. The same space serves breakfast, and after two weeks in the US, it was such a delight to return to a warm buffet spread — especially with a full lineup of delicious local and regional Asian options. One of the best breakfast experiences I’ve had in Asia. In the afternoon, I enjoyed the Sun Chaser summer afternoon tea at WOOBAR, but the setting was vibrant and beautiful. The lounge area overlooks the pool and has a glowing atmosphere during golden hour. At night, it transforms into a futuristic bar space with moody lighting and city views. Throughout the hotel, the public spaces are filled with contemporary artworks and thoughtful design touches. Everything feels impeccably maintained — you can tell it’s one of the most premium hotels in Taipei. The location is also unbeatable, directly above a busy MRT interchange that connects you easily to Taipei Main Station and the high-speed rail to Taoyuan Airport. Yes, it’s a splurge — but W Taipei absolutely delivers, from world-class views and cutting-edge design to unforgettable suites and top-tier dining. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a modern luxury experience in the heart of Taipei.

A solid city hotel, W Taipei provides a luxurious experience, with good service, at a great location. We had a superior 101 view room. This had a great view of 101 - originally I was booked in a cheaper room, but when I checked rates a few weeks before check in I noticed the price of the 101 room had come down significantly, so that it was only slightly more expensive than a wonderful room. So it's worth monitoring the prices before check in. The room was large and luxurious, bed was very comfortable and I also appreciate that they have a sound system in the room. Service was excellent throughout the stay, especially at the bar, and the doormen at the ground floor. Breakfast was definitely a weak point, the spread was okay, but nothing to write home about, and I didn't think the taste was particularly good. I did enjoy the bar, and as hotel guests we were given a nice and private corner suite, a nice touch. Overall I think it's a solid, albeit fairly average luxury hotel in this category, and I would happily stay again.

This was by far my best W experience ever (previous mainly in US). Hotel had recently been updated, great energy, lively and vibrant colors. From arrival to departure the hotel staff was welcoming, attentive, friendly, and accommodating. Service and views at Yen Bar were equally amazing (as we're the cocktails).
