Waipouli Beach Resorts & Spa Kauai by OUTRIGGER

I don't know that I can adequately express how idyllic this resort is. It is everything. It feels like a luxury resort, but offers the comforts of home (full kitchen, living room, etc) that you don't get at a hotel. The pool is absolutely incredible and the grounds/cleaning crew do an amazing job of keeping the resort clean and comfortable. The beach out front isn't swimmable, but it's beautiful for an evening walk! And the proximity to Safeway, Starbucks, and some of the best shave ice on the island can't be beat!

Mixed Opinion. I want to be a fair as possible. The location is great as it's in the middle of the Island and many food options. "If" you happen to get a studio unit, the one we rented was completely dated and needs to be remodeled. In addition we had several issues with the air conditioner as it's a big unit in the middle of the room so if you're a light sleeper it will wake you up every time it turns on as it does make noise. It also never cooled the room to the desired temperature. Unfortunately, you're dealing with maintenance, who doesn't work on these units. They never offered to swich my room or anything. Front desk was nice but couldn't help. Remember these are all individually owned units and is not a hotel. Gym was fantastic.

They do not have a lazy river! It’s a pool shaped like a river but with stagnate water. They do not allow floatation devices of any kind. This was one of the major reasons we booked this resort. We were looking forward to getting on a floaty and just gliding down a lazy river. The only watering station on the property is in the gym and it runs out quickly. There is no ice machine on the entire property. The rooms are outdated and need multiple items to be repaired. From door knobs, handles, drawers, light fixtures, light bulbs, etc. They don’t allow coolers in the pool area which is ok but they also don’t have poolside food-drink service. The location is great, close to a lot of restaurants, coffee shops, market, etc. They are located on a beach but it’s not a swimmable location. Very rocky. Not a boogie board -surfing friendly location either.
