Waka Heian Shirakawa Hotel

I absolutely loved this hotel and I stayed there twice while traveling around. Now that my family is heading to Japan, I am recommending they stay here, as well, while in Kyoto. The staff, the rooms, the area -- everything was absolutely fabulous!

Our recent stay here, nothing short of exceptional, and we wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone visiting Kyoto. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Every staff member we encountered was incredibly kind and attentive. A young lady graciously helped us with our luggage, bringing it all the way up to our room, which was a huge help after a long journey. While another middle-aged gentleman was more reserved, his professionalism was evident. We were particularly impressed with Takahashi-san, who truly made our stay memorable. His excellent communication skills and warm demeanor eliminated any language barriers, making us feel completely at ease. He was always ready to assist and ensure our comfort. One of the coolest features of this hotel is the self-service amenity station at reception, where you can conveniently pick up all your daily necessities. This thoughtful touch, combined with the impeccable cleanliness throughout the hotel, truly elevated our experience. We were so impressed that we tried to extend our stay, but unfortunately, they were fully booked – a testament to their popularity! This hotel offers an incredible value, especially given its fantastic location just steps away from the subway. Do not hesitate to book here; you won't be disappointed!
