I recently stayed at the Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills, and while the hotel’s reputation and service team lived up to expectations in some aspects, the overall experience fell short for a property of this caliber. The good: the staff was courteous and responsive. Whenever I had a request or concern, they acted promptly and with professionalism. This level of service is something I truly appreciated. However, several areas need serious attention. The bathroom faucet was leaking, and there was an unpleasant odor coming from the toilet. The carpet in the room looked noticeably dirty, and the room overall showed signs of aging. It seems the hotel hasn’t been renovated in quite some time, which detracts from the luxury experience one would expect at a Waldorf Astoria. This stay left me feeling that while the people are trying their best, the facilities are not keeping up. For a hotel in such a prime location and price point, maintenance and cleanliness should be impeccable
I booked a cabana at Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills expecting a relaxing, luxurious day, but unfortunately that wasn’t the case. From the moment we arrived, the energy felt off. As we approached the pool entrance, the staff member there started aggressively circling her finger and waving us over to the bar, almost as if to say “you don’t belong here, go over there.” I had on a bikini top under my shirt and the person I was with had a pool bag, you could literally see his swimsuit in it, so it was pretty clear we were there for the pool, not just the bar. I looked visibly confused, and when she “explained” it was something about them not being told of outside reservations, but her tone was still dismissive and nasty nice, not warm or welcoming at all. The cabana host was standing there too, and the way they both handled it felt unnecessarily cold, like we were inconveniencing them. What bothered me most is that she was super friendly with everyone else, including the person I was with, but her energy toward me felt off. She was a beautiful woman with curly hair, but the way she treated me wasn’t beautiful at all. Later, when we were told it was time to leave, the staff member was nice enough to let us stay a little longer, but even then the vibe was uncomfortable. It wasn’t outright discrimination, but the energy definitely made me feel unwelcome. On the bright side, our cabana server throughout the day was attentive and the food was really good, can’t deny that. But overall, for the price point of the cabana plus everything we spent on food and drinks, I expected so much better. Honestly, it left me questioning if my presence was even welcome there at all. I rarely leave reviews like this, but experiences like this deserve to be addressed. I hope this feedback reaches management and encourages them to make things right, because as of now, I wouldn’t feel comfortable coming back.
Disappointing Experience at the Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills – Especially for a Birthday Stay I booked a room here specifically to enjoy the pool for my birthday, and it was a complete letdown. First, the pool closes at 6 PM, which is surprisingly early for a luxury hotel especially in the summer. The next morning, I went to the pool early, hoping to make the most of the day. To my frustration every umbrella was already taken, and several were “claimed” by people who weren’t even present. I sat out in the sun with no shade for hours and got badly sunburned. I asked the staff if I could move to one of the unused umbrellas, and I was told that the people had come early just to “reserve” their spot even though they weren’t actually there. The staff informed me that one of the families was at lunch next door and wanted to save their seat. He was incredibly dismissive and disrespectful in the way he worded his response to me. He seemed to be in a bad mood with how he was treating me and other people. In the hours I was there they never returned. That’s incredibly unfair and should not be allowed, especially when there are only about six umbrellas available. It completely ruined the one thing I was looking forward to. The guests never came back to their spots the entire time I was there, yet the hotel allowed them to hold them indefinitely. It felt like poor management and a lack of consideration for other paying guests. For a hotel of this caliber and price point, I expected a much higher standard of service and fairness. Unfortunately, I left sunburned and upset on what was supposed to be a celebratory weekend.
