A beautiful and tranquil place to stay. The staff was very friendly and attentive and the rooms - yet small - were cozy. I loved the adjustable lights and the possibility to add relaxing background music in the rooms. The breakfast was…interesting. Not everything was to my liking and for my tastebuds but it was a journey of senses and something very new to all of us. I think it is unnecessary to limit the coffee to 1 per person though. The location was good and most things are walkable but it’s in a rather quiet area - not directly at the epicentre of the hustle and bustle.
The staff are wonderful and very helpful. Traditional rooms are clean and beautiful. They offer Samue to wear. They also and give you tabi socks and sandals you can keep. One of my favorite features was the traditional ambient music that you can control in your room. We opted to have the Japanese vegetarian breakfast for one morning and it was lovely. The staff serving it were so sweet. I enjoyed reading the sign explaining about the preparation at my table. We also took part in the meditation session with a monk and it was the perfect end of our evening. The location is great as well. We want to come back and do their calligraphy class next time. It was a nice way to experience a bit of Japanese Buddhist culture. This hotel is perfect for rest and relaxation amidst a busy city. We hope to return soon!
Amazing staff, location and service. Took a while to get used to a few little things, like adminstrative complexity, such as having to pay cash every time for things. For instance I needed more water in my room and they could not seem to add the charge to my room. Buddha breakfast cute but will leave you hungry. Very authentic japanese experience and would stay here again. Very quiet rooms; felt like home.
