Water Hotel Pingyao

Rooms are surrounded by Courtyard, they really tried to keep the authenticity of the Chinese architecture. Rooms are very contemporary and modern. Staff went above and beyond for my wife's birthday. Amazing stay here very highly recommended by us.

Fantastic traditional hotel, at the beginning of the main street, with good facilities, correct breakfast and very helpful and hospitable service. PROS: - The location is perfect to start the walk on the main street, and with the wall right next to it. (The park just outside the south wall is worth a morning walk if you have time to see the citizens exercising) - Very nice and well-kept rooms. We found the futon bed on the floor comfortable, although it may be hard for some. - It has two breakfast menu options, eastern and western. The Westerner was very correct. - The mobile data signal reaches well throughout the hotel. - Pick-up and drop-off service at the station: totally free and very comfortable. - The quality-price ratio is excellent. AGAINST: - The shower did not work very well, with little pressure and no separation from the bathroom other than a curtain, so it flooded easily.

The hotel is in a terrific location, righ in one of the lively streets of the ancient town. The staff is very accommodating and trying to help despite the language barrier. The complementary pick up an drop off from the train station is greatly appreciated. The hotel as a whole has a lot of character, but the room itself is a bit small and dark. The seats in the room are the most uncomfortable imaginable, can't really use them. The breakfast was basic, but with good coffee.
