Had one night here so can't say much about the service and location, we found a couple of places to get drinks and food both reasonably close. Good hotel, comfortable bed well equipped room. Would of liked more time to explore the building.
If you absolutely love old world design and charm this is the place for you. This stunning building has been around over 100 years and inside is a gorgeous staircase and the old lift with the lattice sliding door (to be honest the stairs are faster!). Beautiful room and quiet, high ceilings and great comms about coming in a bit late in the day/evening. Very good value, super close to central amenities and most importantly for me, my work.
A comfortable stay in the Wellington CBD just a short walk to the beehive and transport centre. Rooms have character and comfort and the quirks typical in a building of its age. The old-school elevator is pretty cool but does make a little noise that can be heard from the rooms when in use (depends on where your room is situated). I especially loved the massive bathroom and clawfoot bathtub - perfect for a soak after a long day walking and exploring the city. Overall, great value accommodation for the location and the comfort it provides.
