Stayed here with a really large group - some rooms were better than others but overall this is a great spot! Amazing service, great Indian food onsite, good location. I would stay there again. The only downside were the stairs on the way up to the hotel - not great for big bags, strollers or people with disabilities. I'm sure there's another entrance but worth noting if you're worried about that.
The Wellington Hotel by Blue Orchid offers a refined and peaceful stay right in the heart of Westminster. The location is truly exceptional — just a short walk from major landmarks like Buckingham Palace, St James’s Park, and Westminster Abbey, yet tucked away enough to guarantee quiet evenings and restful nights. The hotel itself is stylish and well-maintained, with a classic charm and modern touches. My room was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully equipped, ideal for relaxing after a day exploring the city. The staff were courteous and professional, always ready to assist with a smile. Everything — from check-in to check-out — was smooth and efficient. Whether you’re in London for business or leisure, the Wellington is a wonderful base: calm, elegant, and incredibly well located.
Disappointing stay The staff at the hotel reception answer phone calls while you are waiting to be served which is very rude. The breakfast was over priced and the service was slow. We asked for decaf coffee on the 2nd morning to be told that they had not had a delivery and if we wanted decaf coffee we needed to buy it from the bar! After we refused the waitress arrived with 4 cups of instant decaf coffee. When we complained at checkout the woman on reception said we should have come to the reception area which was a fair distance away from the breakfast room. Nobody cleared the table and our poach eggs took ages until they were delivered. I would recommend that you do not book the breakfast as at £17 each it is a rip off. We were also told at reception that you were only allowed the bottles of water in your room on arrival which at £460 for the two nights I felt was very mean. Only reason we chose this hotel was because it was on Vincent Square where we had lived as student nurses and we were celebrating 40 years in the nhs so felt disappointed with the breakfast service and the reception staff.
