Wellness & spa hotel Augustiniánský dům

Our favourite place so far in Czech. The hotel is quiet, relaxed and friendly. The spa facility is very good, as is the food. We have been here for the last few years and always leave feeling great!

If I could I would upgrade the ranking of this well run establishment to a 5 Star Hotel / Wellness Spa. The Tresnovice ( cherry flavored liquor ) that we shared together when we first arrived was a perfect way to start our stay. I highly recommend that you get the traditional massage at the spa! I mentioned that I just wanted a full body massage that is soft and I was given a massage that went all the way from my pinky toes to my scalp. I can confidently say that it was the best massage ever. Fully rejuvenated me and was exactly what I needed to recharge and take on the New Year. The breakfasts are full of fresh fruits, eggs, bacon, sausage, cereal and if you want steamed milk with your coffee they are happy to make it happen. Dinners were Top-Notch as well and they are three course meals. Perfectly balanced and full of flavor. Spend some time on the waterbeds in the wellness lounge and also take time to sit by the fireplace after dinner to enjoy the warmth and nice atmosphere. The rooms are well laid out and clean. You will find a small treat waiting for you along with a nice robe and slippers for the spa. I must applaud the entire staff ! From day one until we left the building they were friendly, welcoming and very attentive to every guest. It’s very apparent that they take pride in what they do and it shows in how they represent the business. Tips: Arrive on time for a bowl of soup and the cherry liquor to start your stay. Bring a good book or an iPad to read on a comfy waterbed in the wellness lounge and enjoy some time to sit outside to take in the atmosphere. Book it! It’s very much worth the experience. This place is an absolute must.

I did not get a chance to experience neither the hotel nor the restaurant, but I definitely experienced the rude and unwelcoming reception staff. Me & my partner were visiting Luhacovice and wanted to have an aperitif or dinner in the hotel bar or restaurant. The lady at the reception told us their hotel bar is closed (there were people sitting inside and having a drink at that exact moment). We then asked about a possibility to have a dinner in the restaurant. She told us that 'probably there are many reservations for that evening and those were done well in advance, so it is not possible'. She did not check any records nor called the restaurant. She made an assumption, and that was it. When I questioned some of her statements, she found some more excuses, and continued ignoring us with a bored face. I heard a lot about the hotel and wanted to visit and have a nice evening during our short trip in the area (we live in Switzerland, but come from Moravia and visit Czech rep max twice a year). This experience, however, made me not interested in the hotel and its services anymore. It also reminded me of one of the reasons why I left this country = annoyed people with zero customer service, who know nothing about you, wearing a uniform which apparently puts themselves into a superior position to have the right to decide that you are not welcome. Visited on Saturday, 3 August, around 6 pm.
