Wellnesshotel Seeschlößchen

Very nice hotel, with several pools, saunas and treatment options. Two restaurants and a (by German standards) good breakfast.

This resort should be avoided at all costs during the summer season. It doesn't have air conditioning for the guest rooms. We were given a hut that baked in the sun during the day. By noon the heat inside of the hut was intolerable. Only very late at night the heat receded to levels that allowed us to sleep. The hotel is classified as 4 stars superior. The hut that we were given is characteristic in terms of size and amenities to a mid-range zimmer. The only positives were an extremely friendly staff (that couldn't really help) and very high quality food at breakfast and also for dinner. We made an original reservation for 4 nights but flew away after 2 nights (2 nights too much). They charged us 80% on the nights that we had not slept, and didn't ask even once why we were cutting short our stay. In addition, this hotel is dramatically overpriced. For less money you get a top class hotel in Dresden (which is exactly what we did), with full air-conditioning and high-quality rooms or suites.

Car Camping - Wellnesshotel Seeschlößchen Our flight were delayed, so we called the Wellnesshotel Seeschlößchen for a key arrangement, as we could not make it before the reception closed. When we arrived at 1:00AM, the key were not to be found at the agreed spot. We tried to call the hotel multiple times for help or suggestions and then spend another 30 minutes trying to rule out possible locations, where the key might have been placed - without luck.The rest of this first night we slept in our rental car at the parking lot. Ín the morning we found out, that the key where still on the reception desk. During our three day stay we were not approached by any hotel manager, and at checkout we therefore argued, that we would not pay for a nights sleep in our car. We were told to contact our hotel agency as the stay where not arranged directly through the hotel. They did offer two wellness treatments for free, which we took, but as the value were below the the price of one night “in a car”, we did inform them, that we would contact our hotel agency for a refund when back home. When our agency called the hotel to confirm that he was eligible to give us a one night refund the hotel manager denied as we had accepted the wellness treatments as compensation. This was not the case and by no mean a reasonable compensation for a uncomfortable, unnecessary “camp in your car experience”. Their handling of this situation leaves us with no other option than giving them the lowest rating for a situation they could easily have avoided.
