Wenchang Waika Hotel

If you ask me, the cleanliness can be improved for sure - the bed linen was not the cleanest but still acceptable. Rooms were pretty nice and spacious, air conditioning was great and the hospitality of the staff was amazing. The food was also great - and thus I would overall recommend and would come back again!

Hotel is not bad but nearby got no shopping mall kinda of troublesome if tourist who want to go a shopping mall

The doors to the shower don’t close all the way, so water leaks all over the bathroom when you wash. The toilet clogs easily. The WiFi stops working every hour or so and we have to wait for another couple of hours for it to turn back on. We called the hotel front desk but there were no signs of improvement. The walls are thin and I could hear conversations happening in the hallway. I checked out the “gym” on the 4th floor and it was just three machines, a couple of weight plates littered everywhere, a ping pong table with no equipment, and three treadmills that won’t turn on even when I plugged them into the outlet. Outside the hotel doors are two fountains with koi swimming in them. I noticed that the fish would surface above the water and gasp for air, a clear sign that their environment lacked adequate oxygen, and I could see why — the fountains were fully green with algae. They do not care for the wellbeing of their pets. One positive aspect was that when we called the service line, housekeepers responded and came to our room very quickly. The staff are also very nice in general.
