If I had to make a ranking of the best things at this hotel, it would be: 1. Service 2. Location 3. Rooms Absolutely every single member of the staff is super nice and very helpful and proactive. 2. Probably the best locatee hotel on the Wadden islands, views are magnificient, both on the duin side as well as on the sea side. 3. Rooms are very spacious, well equippes and designed. Feels really "gezellig". A place to return, as many times as possible.

Nice location (though in our case we're just looking straight at dunes) with decent rooms, but are very expensive for the return. No AC with a room temperature not dropping below 25 degrees when it's below that outside is just not what was expected. Next to the beach the floors are expected to get dirty, but they weren't cleaned during our visit. Lighting setup in the room was blinding. Breakfast was decent but no matter how busy, they constantly ran out of stock.

Is this a four star hotel? I guess... but maintenence is due. What draws down the review to 3 stars is really that so very few people speaks english. Restaurant menus, signs, information, guided tours only in dutch. Marks of someone who had tried breaking in on our apartment door. In the game room the billlard tables didn't work. The restaurant is 3-4 stars, depending on the night. If it is busy, 3 stars. The associated restaurant down at the beach is crap, serves microwaved food and has crap service. The beach is great, but is very windy. Most days, 10m/s wind. It's 20-35 minutes walk to the city, and that is a walk you will have to do often, as buses do not go that often. In the city, there are some more decent restaurants. This is what made us go. Eating at the hotel for a week was a hard no. The hotel spa = three saunas, a bubble pool, and three other pools which also was warm. No cold water pools or showers, only less than warm water. Sunbeds where you can relax. When we were there very limited treatments were offered. If you do not expect luxary or a newly renovated hotel, this is fine - as long as you can walk an hour per day.
