Western House Hotel

On arrival, we discovered that the accessible room we had been allocated required access by lift, which was unsuitable for my mum. Staff were first class and swiftly switched things around to accommodate us in a ground floor room. All staff we encountered were friendly and professional and checked to see that everything was okay for us. Lovely food, perfect location and we had a lovely, relaxed stay. Would highly recommend!

We had a good stay at this hotel. Excellent value for money. Think we had an upgrade to a king size bed. Shower power was great with easy to use taps. We were only staying one night so we only cared about the bed and the shower and the Fairfield delivered. It also has a great location for the town and the train station. The carpet was a bit frayed but not in a dangerous way, for those that think decorations are important in a hotel stay.

Nice Hotel close to the Ayr Beach. Very Child friendly. The bar room has many free extras like shampoo or shower gel, but also hot chocolate, tea, coffee and even free cookies which get refilled daily. The pool seems a bit outdated but is very well maintained and totally sufficient. Our room was recently refurbished with a modern spacious bathroom but still with a classic look throughout the room. Dinner in the restaurant was solid, but we decided to eat outside on 2 of 4 nights. The reason for 4 stars is mainly the breakfast. We had it once. Although there were plenty of options like cornflakes or toast, we found the price of 15 GBP a bit too pricey considering that the full Scottish breakfast which they offered was kind of boring and most of the things were really dry and/or unseasoned. Overally we would recommend the hotel for its location, the good service and the cleanliness and would come again.
