I went for a night- since I was traveling to Brooklyn for a show. I drove in about 1.5 hours. I absolutely had the best experience but only because of the front desk - Christina was the most amazing woman. She helped me with every single thing and it made me feel like I was home. Especially since I was a solo woman traveler. Thank you so much Christina and she needs a raise! lol. The room was amazing and the lobby was beautiful. So cool being in a hotel from the 20’s. Location was perfect!! Its gonna be my new favorite place to stay when I go to BK. Was only 10m to drive from there. I will be back! Can’t wait for mt next trip. Thank you guys so much!!!

Historic hotel that has been completely renovated. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, staff is professional and courteous, location is solid. Great value. We are former Manhattan residents and we were very impressed. For the life of me, I don’t understand the mediocre rating on Google. We will definitely be back.

Date of stay: June 17, 2025 I am currently staying at the Westgate in New York. Overall, the hotel itself is decent and quite nice. However, my experience with the front desk staff was disappointing. When I asked for a pair of slippers, I was told to come down and get them myself, not a big deal, but not exactly the level of service you’d expect. Later, I called housekeeping to ask for an adapter, and they kindly said they would send someone to my room. They followed through quickly, so thank you to the housekeeping team; definitely more helpful than the front desk. The bigger issue was the air conditioning. At check-in on June 17, I noticed the lobby was hot and asked about it. I was told the AC was down but would be fixed within a few hours. When I returned around midnight, it still wasn’t working. I called the front desk again, and the response was dismissive—no timeline, no apology. I asked for someone to check on it because my room was uncomfortably warm and humid. Thankfully, the maintenance technician who came was very polite and apologetic. He offered to bring a fan, which he did right away. That helped a lot, and I appreciated his attitude. To sum up: the hotel is good and most of the staff are professional and courteous. But the front desk service needs serious improvement.
