Westgate Winchester

We used the Westgate as our Weddig reception venue. The food and accommodation were outstanding – we honestly couldn’t have asked for more. The team were so professional, friendly, and on the ball the entire day – they made sure everything ran like clockwork so we could just relax and enjoy ourselves. The food was INCREDIBLE – so many of our guests said it was the best wedding food they’ve ever had! From the drinks to the main meal and evening snacks, everything was delicious and beautifully presented. The rooms were lovely too – super comfortable and clean, though those steps are an interesting climb in a Wedding dress! I personally really liked the character and whimsical feel of the building, but can imagine it's not for everyone, so worth checking out. They made the whole experience feel so smooth and effortless, and we’re genuinely so grateful for everything. Highly, highly recommend!

My mom and I stayed at Westgate a few days ago and were there for 3 nights. Our plane didn’t land until after 10 pm (which is when check in ends). We called the hotel while on the train and Aiden spent quite a bit of time putting the key in the lockbox for us and if it wasn’t going to work was willing to wait until we got there to give us the key. Luckily it did work since we didn’t end up getting there until almost 1 am because of train cancellations. The rest of the staff was really friendly as well and the bar/restaurant was good The whole place is really beautiful and (at least the rooms we got) had a gorgeous view of a castle across the street. The place is also within walking distance of plenty of food places and stores as well as the local train station. We also added another night last minute and Aiden gave it to us at a cheaper rate Now the (small) cons, tons of stairs to the rooms. They are, however, nice enough to take your bags up and down for you. The main fan in the second room we got, when we added an extra night last minute, didn’t work.

I booked two rooms at the Westgate, the rooms were really lovely and beautifully decorated, the bed was so comfortable and the showers were great! The staff are so friendly, attentive and helpful and the breakfast was delicious! The location of the Westgate is perfect. We booked the Westgate as we were getting married at the register office which is opposite!! We can’t wait to revisit year on year now! Thank you so much to all the staff at the Westgate who made our stay so lovely & memorable! A special mention to Aidan who was really attentive!
