Stayed four nights last week. Not the first time we have stayed in the Plaza. This was our third time to stay. Beautiful hotel , well appointed rooms , we had our bikes for cycling andvwere able to lock them in a secure area. Staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. Had a small issue with an extractor fan in the shower, John and Kathy did everything to resolve the issue.
Beautiful hotel right in the centre of Westport. Spacious rooms, beds support comfortable, leisure centre has a really nice pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. The bar and restaurant Coveys is a great spot to eat and enjoy a few drinks. Staff couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. Thoroughly recommend!
Generally we had a really nice stay at this hotel, and there is a lot good to say about it. The rooms are huge and well equipped, the Covey’s bar area is really nice and the location is great for walking into Westport town centre. The staff are generally pretty friendly, but a bit hit and miss particularly with reception staff. However there are a few reasons why I can’t give this any higher rating. Firstly the hotel pool is pretty rubbish - we tried to go 3 times and 2 of these times it was being used for kids swimming lessons and was absolutely rammed and very noisy which is not what you expect from a luxury hotel pool. When we were able to get in we were disappointed to see there are no loungers or anywhere to sit which seems ridiculous? Also I had to buy a swimming hat for €3 if I wanted to swim and this was non refundable. So all a bit poor really. We also made use of the spa facilities and although the massage was great, the thermal suite was a bit of a let down. It felt very cramped and claustrophobic, not relaxing at all. Also 2 of the “rooms” were out of order so you don’t really get your money’s worth. Also I don’t know why we were given a room without a roof garden view despite paying for the Golden Experience. We had a balcony but this felt a bit redundant as the view was over a courtyard which was usually full with coaches or people doing construction work. Overall, it’s a nice hotel but would I stay again? Probably not.
