We visit this area each year to visit family and always book here. Was interested to see how it was after the refurb and we must say they have done an excellent job. Rooms were perfect for our needs. Staff are very friendly and chatty. Breakfast was great. We didn't eat in the restaurant during evening as had made other arrangements but the food that was coming out looked nice. Free parking which is great but you may struggle for a space on busier days through the school holidays. All in all a great upgrade and smashing hotel. Will be back as usual next year. Great base for Brighton as within the bus zone so get a 24hr ticket for two people for £11 and use the busses.

An overnight stay for us and our dog and even for the short time we were there it was wonderful. We arrived at noon as we were meeting friends for lunch elsewhere in Rottingdean, the reception team member was extremely warm and welcoming and as expected the room wasn’t ready which wasn’t an issue, she took our car registration for the 24 hours free parking on site and directed us and the dog to the bar where we meet our friends. The bar was amazing, dog friendly and tastefully redirected with lots of seating options. We returned later after our afternoon out and enjoyed a few more drinks in the bar. Overall the this was a great overnight stay in a smart hotel with great staff throughout the venue including the bar staff and manger who were extremely welcoming and helpful

The room we were given was an accessible room. It felt like we were in a basement and the windows were positioned high so you couldn’t look out. The room was on the small side and there was nowhere to do your hair. The Nespresso machine was a nice touch and the wall mounted TV was a good size. The bathroom was great, powerful shower and nice fluffy towels and the bed was comfortable. The food in the restaurant was mediocre and they had ran out of two items on what was a limited menu. We ordered extra bread but this never arrived. Breakfast - we arrived at 9:30am, most of the tables were unclean and there was nothing much left in the continental Buffett. There were no croissants, no granola, no fruits. We had to order coffee twice and when I asked for milk, I was told to get it myself from the buffet. No milk receptacles in sight of course. I asked for a container, the same woman took one off a dirty table, went and rinsed out and brought back out still wet. We never got any butter with the toast. The hot breakfast was good and most of the staff seem to work hard except for this one woman who had a negative attitude and seemed disinterested in doing her job. To add insult to injury we were charged twice for the room. Fortunately it was picked up by the morning staff who processed a refund. The best thing about this hotel is the location and the decor.
