White's Corner

Didn’t have much expectations for our stay but when we arrived, we were delighted at how much character the cottage had. Lovely renovated and much of the old were maintained well. Can be cold but heater provided in the bathroom and bedroom, plus reverse cycle air conditioner. Check in was a bit confusing, having realised I was meant to contact them, however a quick call at the “reception” (which was behind a door so no real reception is available) to get the lock code for the key was easy. We were delightfully surprised considering how much negativity we’ve read about White’s Corner. It’s not that bad - was actually quite lovely. Tall people, just watch your head!

Very old house. Very old infrastructure except in the bathroom which is newly renovated Not much insulation, so it could get quite cold.

There are some safety issues that must be addressed at this 4 bedroom property. The back door needs to be lifted to open it , which in a fire situation would be very dangerous . The front door also needs lifting . The door handles to the only bathroom are very unreliable. A child was locked in as the handle fell off . The hole in the floor (in the lounge room ) under the couch was inadequately covered with masking tape - was of a size that your foot could go through and more concerningly a snake could enter through the poorly fitted masking tape . With 8 adults staying , the hot water system was very inadequate .
