This is the place to go for a comfortable and totally genuine English village pub stay. The rooms haven all been updated and are very comfortable and very clean. The charm is also genuine, and is backed up with impeccable hospitality from Brian and his team of friendly and professional staff. Ditch the fancy hotels and come here to experience a fine tradition of coaching inn hospitality. Food is excellent and the location fabulous.

So lucky to have this pub in the village! The roast today on Easter Sunday was superb. Great sized portion, such friendly and efficient staff - roast lamb and chicken just like home cooked with all the trimmings, cooked perfectly and plenty of gravy. I’d heard it was now great food and v true- the chef has things down to perfection- couldn’t fault it! No more expensive than usual Sunday Roast prices elsewhere too.

This is a lovely pub/ hotel. The owners and staff are really welcoming. The pub is very old (some parts from 1388) and has the charm to match. That said, it's definitely not dated! Really strong WiFi all over, it's extremely clean and tidy and a good selection of ales/ lagers and spirits. We stayed 2 nights. The room was really clean and comfortable. There's a small carpark (no extra charge) and we never had a problem getting a space. What looks like a newly built outdoor covered area is a great touch. Special mentions go to the wonderful chef Tim who went over and above to make our stay even better. He obviously takes immense pride in his menu with freshly cooked ingredients. The full English breakfast is the best I've ever had as was the steak burger. Thanks Tim, we really appreciated all you did. Sometimes the little things make a massive difference. Highly recommended and I look forward to coming back next time we're in the area.
