We stayed at Wilde Cambridge and the experience was excellent. The staff was very kind and dedicated. The room details and all the appliances were high-end. A special mention goes to the waiter Nicolas, who attended us at breakfast on our second-to-last day. A pleasant and welcoming stay. We will be back soon.
The rooms was nice, everything was new and clean. It was convenient to have all of the kitchen essentials, and I loved the scents of the shower soap & lotion. The service was good and the contact method through WhatsApp was efficient. The location was the best we could ask for, close to everything at the doorstep. Staff members were nice and welcoming. Two improvements points: 1. On Booking it didn't mentions that the studio apartment for a couple is two beds that were pushed in together, which is not very comfortable. 2. The hottest shower temperature was only warm. So if you're the kind of person who likes hot showers like me, it's not satisfactory.
Great stay. All staff were helpful, but especially Katie in the cafe/bar area was brilliant, as was Kim/Kym on check-in. The building is new and attractive - no signs of wear and tear makes a big difference, the bar and rooms are lovely - the rooms are quite minimalist but good quality, and the bar is excellently designed. The location was very central and close to St John's College and Trinity College which made it walking distance to everything we wanted to do. There was only one problem: the food in the bar did not represent value for money - the charcuterie platter was very nice but neither the size nor the quality warranted a £25 price tag. The drinks are also fair and standard Cambridge prices, but eating elsewhere is definitely advisable. Most of the other "problems" here where they did arise were really out of their control: My room was above the (quite loud) pub garden so might not have been the best for people wanting an early night or light sleepers - though the blinds blocked out a lot of the noise. The car park underneath appears convenient (not operated by the hotel), but is horrendously expensive and poorly maintained for any length of stay, so I'd advise anyone to get the park and ride bus if they don't have heavy bags rather than paying for the worst car park in the country. The building also seemed like it was still being finished as there was work going on in the bar and on the facade but this didn't impact us. Two other VERY minor issues were that: the pillows could be firmer but I appreciate that's personal preference and the bed itself was great; and the 3rd floor was a bit of a labyrinth but we worked it out eventually.
