As a return guest for the third time, I can confidently say that the Wildlife Retreat at Taronga is the ultimate luxury escape right in the heart of Sydney. With its breathtaking views over the harbour and the unique experience of staying next door to Taronga Zoo, it’s truly one of a kind. From the moment you arrive, the reception team makes you feel personally welcomed. Their exceptional service and warm, professional communication add a special touch that makes each visit feel even more memorable than the last. If you’re planning a stay, I highly recommend booking one of the Animal View Rooms, nothing compares to waking up and seeing wildlife just outside your window. For something even more indulgent, the Tree Top Suite is simply stunning. Both offer a serene, immersive experience you won’t find anywhere else in the city. Don’t miss dining at Me-Gal restaurant upstairs—an absolute must-try. With its fine cuisine and sweeping harbour views, it rounds out the experience perfectly. This place continues to exceed my expectations, and I can’t wait for my next visit. Wildlife Retreat at Taronga was superb. I strongly recommend it for a couple of days for visitors to Sydney or locals celebrating a special occasion. The staff were a highlight, both passionate and knowledgeable. Our room was modern, spacious, and had a stunning view over the sanctuary. The mini-adventure weekend created a very memorable experience - an unusual merging of upmarket sophistication, Australian classlessness, and Australian and exotic animals.

5 stars +++++ This is a top notch location, with great service and beautiful rooms. Accommodations are very comfortable and exceptional in all ways. The huge plus is the three before hours/after hours tours I participated in. The zookeepers were all extremely knowledgeable and it was just super fun doing the after hours tours and getting to get different looks at the animals and insider stories knowledge about animals. Breakfast was very nice. I loved the city skyline views. And I loved loved seeing koalas directly from my room. Amazing experience!
