Windsor Florida Hotel

The hotel is quite cozy. However, you should pay attention to the way the front desk staff interacts with their clients. Their attitude towards English-speaking guests is very negative and, to be honest, rather hostile. This leaves a very unpleasant impression. It feels like you are invisible, having to stand at the front desk and wait until they graciously glance your way. Meanwhile, a number of Portuguese-speaking guests are being served. The guys handling the luggage were polite. The pool is old. The location is really great, especially for those who don’t prioritize the beach. Honestly, as someone who has lived in the U.S. for the past 10 years, this kind of treatment made me feel like I was in a prison under surveillance. You guys need to address this issue. Been in hotels with 3 stars better than this one, lol, plus is not worth the price. Supposedly got a superior room, which look pretty lame for "superior" and it's price Also, it smells bad, what's with the smell around?? The hallways for rooms don't have A SINGLE window, giving this enclosure feel which is not pleasant at all. And it needs better illumination, at least if you don't have windows, put some better lights.

I booked a room at this hotel over 6 months ago via Booking.com for my 9-night stay in Rio during Carnival and was incredibly excited to stay here. However, since then I have experienced an absolute nightmare. The hotel claimed that my card was invalid, which I know is not the case. I updated my card details twice with two different cards, but still the hotel marked each card as invalid. They then cancelled my booking despite me trying to contact them via email and message several times with no response. After seeing the cancellation, I immediately rebooked (at double the original booking price) to not lose the room I had booked months in advance, and contacted them for a fifth time to offer to make payment but requested that this be at the original price of booking given that I had been trying to contact them but received no response. They thankfully agreed and provided a payment link directly from the hotel. This system has rejected every card I have, as well as two friends' cards. I have been back and forth with the hotel to ask for an alternative method of payment, but keep being told that credit card is the only way to pay. Once again, I have three cards, all of which are valid and have plenty of funds so there is no reason this payment would not work. A Brazilian friend even called the hotel and they still claimed there is no issue with the system. There has been a total lack of flexibility around finding alternative payment methods (even though this should not have been an issue in the first place). The only option I have been given is to pay the higher price without possibility of a refund of the difference between the two bookings, so I can only assume that the hotel is trying to get rid of my booking to be able to charge more. I have instead booked with another hotel at the double the price just to be done with this nightmare that has taken hours out of my day, and (surprise, surprise) the payment was immediately accepted proving that there is no issue with the card. A possibly great stay ruined - please avoid!
