Windsor Oceanico Hotel

I stayed here for a night due to cancelled flight . Great location, great buffet options for both breakfast and lunch. The dinner menu was a little bit meh but otherwise food was great. Right next to the beach so you can enjoy the sun and the water without having to walk too much (the beach can get a bit crowded at times tho). I stayed on the 10th floor and my room was great. Service in general was quick too. Definitely recommend!

Pros • Right near the beach. • Nice staff. Especially the first woman who checked us in, the room service man, and Paulo. Sorry I didn't get all the names. • Nice room service breakfast. • Shower caps provided. • ATM located in basement. Cons • There were signs of mold in the bathroom and no ventilation fans. • The towels smelled like chemicals. • The sofa chair or chaise in the corner had stains on it. • The sauna had an odd smell to it. In between • We paid for a room expecting a large window. When we got our room it had a small window towards the top of the wall as well as some stains on the walls. We asked the staff for a room matching our expectations concerning the window and stains and got it.

All I asked for was a spoon for my room. They refused at the bar. I went to the dining room with 70 vacant tables and 6 staff members and they said i would have to call room service. There were easily a 1000 spoons insight. I said a plastic spoon would be fine but they said they don't have them. I did not call room service because I asked for ice and they sent a cup for $6.00. I am paying more than double for the room to garner more air miles through promotion ($250) current room rate $100 and they can't even give me a spoon. Barra da tijuca is always more expensive than the rest of Rio but this is insane
