Windy Ridge Kandy

We stayed at Windy Ridge for 2 days and had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. The host was attentive and quick to communicate. The beds were very comfortable, the room was perfectly clean and the breakfast was nice. The hotel is located in a peaceful forested area, away from the center. Some rooms open directly onto the breakfast area, so those sensitive to noise may prefer rooms on the upper or lower floors.

I had an extremely unpleasant stay at this guesthouse due to the owner’s rude and controlling behavior. From the moment I arrived, the owner made me feel unwelcome and uncomfortable with their constant interference in my personal space and plans. Their behavior crossed the line and gave off stalker vibes, which made the entire experience unsettling. The atmosphere was far from relaxing, and instead of enjoying my stay, I felt like I was being watched and monitored. Hospitality was completely lacking, and the owner’s attitude overshadowed any positive aspects of the property. I do not recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful and pleasant stay. Choose a guesthouse where your privacy and comfort are respected.

It felt more like being under surveillance than staying at a guesthouse. The food was okay but nothing special, and even simple requests, like asking for a banana, were met with hesitation. The owner’s tendency to lecture us about travel etiquette and how we should behave was condescending and unnecessary—it honestly made the experience more uncomfortable than it needed to be. Overall, the place had potential, but the overly strict and unwelcoming atmosphere ruined it for us. I wouldn’t recommend Windy Ridge if you’re looking for a relaxed and enjoyable stay.
