Winter Park Chateau

The owners are hospitable and welcoming, the queen room is very comfortable - high quality mattress. Coffee bar and good-sized modern bathroom. There’s a gas fireplace for the winter nights. Clean and well maintained facilities throughout with large lounge areas to hang out with friends and family. 76 degrees here and the room is comfortably cool with the portable cooler and fans. I travel for work and will be staying here again.

My wife and I were in Winter Park for a wedding this past weekend and stayed for two nights at the WP Chateau. The cost was in line with other places we were seeing on Airbnb and hotels - actually, a bit lower than some. The room was spacious (much bigger than a normal hotel room) and all guests have access to a nice hot tub and first floor den and dining area, which feels like a nice living room you'd be happy to hang out in for a while, except of course you are in Winter Park, so you do not hang out inside very much! The hosts were friendly, welcoming and very helpful and if they offer you their custom breakfast options, SAY YES! They are reasonably priced and exceptionally delicious. While the Chateau is centrally located in town - and pretty much across the street from one of the more popular coffee shops/cafes (Moon Frog Cafe - also worth a visit!) - the Chateau offers a quiet respite where you can get a good nights sleep and some good old fashioned down time. I highly recommend the Chateau if you are looking for a place in Winter Park!

We booked 2 nights and only stayed one night. The owner would not refund the second night expense. The hotel does not have central air conditioning. The night we stayed the temperature was too warm to be able to sleep. There was a small swamp cooler in the room, but it literally did nothing to cool the room off. I messaged the staff at around 2 AM letting them know that the room was hot and I could not sleep. The next morning I received a message saying a second swamp cooler could be put in the room. That would’ve done nothing. I went down and spoke with the owner explaining to him that I had not slept all night and was going to be leaving because I wasn’t going to spend a second night of not sleeping. We stayed June 21, 2024 if you are planning a trip to stay at this hotel, please be advised there is no central air conditioning. This was not advertised and we were not aware of it or we would not have booked a room in this establishment. Reasonable expectation of being able to control temperature is not present. It’s a nice place, but that doesn’t matter if it’s hot and you can’t sleep.
