Woodland House Hotel

What a lovely place. Wasn’t staying at the hotel but called in for a drink and it was fab. The staff were very welcoming and so friendly. It was so good we went back for drinks and a meal two days later. The choice on the menu was brilliant and very reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend.

One of the nicest hotels I’ve stayed at in Dumfries. Fantastic comfy room and so luxurious. The bathrooms were modern and the rooms were a little old but had a lovely old school feel to them, I prefer old sofas which are comfy than the new modern ones that are not! Amazing bed and great sleep which is the most important! Unfortunately I missed the breakfast but it looked great! The hosts were amazing and it felt like staying in a Manor House and not a hotel. So warm and comforting! Fantastic grounds and so well kept! The grass was so well cut. Also another thing was they cleaned the room every night! Not many hotels do this now days. Fresh sheets and fresh towels daily! Also with a dated room the tv was a new smart tv with Netflix and YouTube! Don’t even get that in the Hilton hotels! Great selections of teas and coffee in the room with fine cups and tea pot! 2 tea cups and 2 mugs with saucers! Loved it. Can’t wait to be back again!

The location is amazing. Nice big posh driveway when you arrive and greeted by a nice Stateley home. The staff are on top of everything. Greeted into the hotel fast and straight to the room. I have to note the rooms are a bit outdated 90s look. Bathroom was nice and modern though. There's a big extension being built which looks ugly and unfinished for a while kinds ruined our view but it's only a work stay so not bothered. The food was amazing. Very reasonably priced and quick service. Hotel was very busy and still managed to bring the food out quick
