WorldHotels Distinctive Woughton House Hotel

My husband and I recently had our wedding here, and honestly it could not have been more perfect! The grounds are stunning and peaceful. The small Georgian manor itself is picturesque and intimate. However, what makes Woughton House really homely is their polite and friendly staff. Matthew, in particular, was absolutely brilliant in ensuring we had the best day! He went above and beyond, even getting one of our guests extra lamb chops from the kitchen when it had run out at the buffet station. Compliments also to the chef, as all our guests thoroughly enjoyed their food, especially the chicken! If there’s only one thing the hotel could do for future bride and grooms, it would be to ensure room service is available and that breakfast can still be served after 10am to the newlyweds. Overall, a very positive experience and I’m so pleased we chose this as our venue.

Great hotel for a city break away from the centre yet not too far. Fabulous stuff so friendly polite and helpful . We had an excellent twin room fully equipped with all needs and high standards, stunning views of the surrounding countryside .Not surprised that it was chosen for a wedding venue! Absolutely 5 star

From the outside the hotel is beautiful, lovely grounds and they have worked hard on marketing to make the hotel look luxe. However the rooms itself are very disappointing. We arrived and the rooms was very filthy, hairs everywhere, dirty bathroom, dirty socks from the previous person left on the floor, the toilet had hairs on and clearly had not been cleaned. After complaining to staff we were moved room but there was a lack of apology to a shocking situation. In addition when leaving, we noticed the room cleaners had left all the clean linen and towels on the floor outside of everyones rooms for the changeover. This is in the same hallway where people walk ontop of the carpet daily. This hotel needs to work on its hygiene and cleanliness. After complaining at check out they did remove the breakfasts but I would much rather a clean room! Wasn’t a comfortable stay at all I’m afraid. I would not class this as 4 star quality.
