Wutai Mountain Marriott Hotel

This Marriott is a lovely retreat in a remote mountain location. As a Platinum Elite member, I was upgraded to a suite. The hotel offers set meals at the Wu Tai Kitchen with options including a Cantonese seafood set and a Western selection for dinner. There is also an outsourced restaurant on the basement level (-1), but be aware that it is not affiliated with the hotel. We had a not great experience with the front desk girl at Wutai Kitchen, but it was resolved very quickly. One issue on heating which is not very good, but it doesn’t really matter because we use comforters and it wasn’t very cold. And this is spring so if it is a winter, it would be very cold & might be an issue. Service at the front desk could be improved, as none of the staff spoke basic English. Given that this is a Marriott property, at least one English speaking staff member should be available. Breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of fresh and delicious options. Overall, if you’re visiting this area, I highly recommend staying here. The town is quite small, and this is one of the best accommodations available, ensuring a comfortable stay.

This is everything you expect from Marriot and more, excellent customer service, food, huge rooms, and all in a scenic background with a nice blend of modern and traditional Chinese style. On top of that it's a great price, I'd never stay anywhere else in Wutai Shan.
