Wyndham Bangkok Queen Convention Centre

This would have been an easy 5-star review if it wasn’t been for the dreadful breakfast buffet line. Please don’t get me wrong, the other aspects were excellent! Room - Room was spacious! Rated at this price and you get a room this big with a kitchenette and a washing machine with a dryer! Marvellous! Everything was great! Service - I was sceptical at first when I read the reviews of other previous guests stayed here. I received a very warm welcome from all the staff starting from the security, receptionists, concierge, housekeepers, and breakfast staff. They smiled, greeted and offered help. All good! Shout out to all of them and the management that took constructive feedback from other reviews and turned this around. Location - very convenient!!! Next to the subway (MRT) and the park. Going everywhere was easy, no worries! Next to the park, so I enjoyed running every day. Beautiful swimming pool and well-equipped gym overlook the park and the city. Absolutely loved it. Breakfast!!!!! - It was the only downfall of the stay! Otherwise, this stay would be flawless and perfect! I expected more and better. The breakfast buffet line of other cheaper hotels I’ve stayed in looked and tasted better than this. The breakfast buffet line was so limited and dried, dreadful, tasteless, poor quality, slow to top-up and refilled, the poor little toasters looked like they weren’t being cleaned at all during my stay. However, the staff were very nice and helpful every time I asked for help. If the breakfast buffet line has been improved, I’m absolutely certain that the overall guest experience will be improved as well.

3.5/5. Overall a pleasant experience. Very accommodating staff and very polite workers. Rooms are clean too. 2 problems: My main problem is that the concierge and the reception are both empty sometimes and the concierge doesn’t pick up upon calling. Also, the breakfast buffet is small but that’s okay; the main problem there is that the dishes are COLD and the egg station should have toppings available (no veggies, no cheese, nothing). Also, the salad station is very inconveniently set up where it is quite hard to serve oneself.

I hate leaving low reviews, but when you have so many options in Bangkok, it's hard not to compare. The room was great. I got the studio and it was very big and with a nice city view. The service was basic, if not worse than the boutique hotel I stayed in Siam. The concierge was basic, and I didn't feel very welcomed. A doorman does not exist, so you have to struggle with the heavy doors yourself while you try to push your suitcases. The guard outside was on his phone the entire time and even gave my cab driver attitude when I arrived. I didn't get my room serviced while i was there, so I can't comment on that. The 3 stars belong to the elderly gentleman who helped me with my luggage when I was leaving.
