Nice hotel, we have stayed several times. The beds are comfortable, but kind of high. My MIL is short and it was difficult for her to get in bed! The room and bathroom were clean with all amenities available. My only complaint is they do not have a wheelchair available. My elderly MIL had to go to the ER and we really could have used a wheelchair to get her back to the room.

Of course I know the hotel is old. It's in the historic part of town. It looks great from the outside but the room was old and dark. It would have been better had the floor not had carpet in it. The lighting in the bathroom was horrible so if you intend to put makeup on in that mirror. Good luck! There was no refrigerator in the room which was a huge con for me. I rely on having a refrigerator in a room to keep my drinks cold. On a positive note, I did go down to the lounge and I had a club sandwich and a beer and that was the best club sandwich I have had in a super long time. The food was amazing. The service was great. The rooms just need a really good updating. My overall experience was positive.

This hotel was once a jewel in the crown of downtown Fort Smith, but alas it appears that she is aging less gracefully than she might. My wife & I have attended a convention here each biennial since sometime in the 90’s. The last few times that we were here I have noticed some small issues, but on the last visit it seems they have grown exponentially. The first thing that I noticed was one of the main doors was out of service. The elevator doors sometimes hang and issues like the problem with the window in our room seem all too frequent throughout. At our banquet, with approximately 300-350 attending the hotel was unable (?) to hire adequate staff to serve the tables. The guests had to help. The servers that were there were working as hard as possible and were not to blame. They just needed more help. I sincerely hope that some of these issues can be corrected for it is still a good place to stay. The rooms are clean, the staff is friendly and of course the location is great.
