The service was wonderful and very helpful. Big plus that the hotel is located near metro station that is very easy to use. Sometimes you wait for a taxi very long. Food and drinks at the rooftop impeccable. Pool chairs very comfy and refreshing water at the pool itself. We stayed 3 days and we loved our very clean room with cozy beds and great sheets and pillows. The vies are breathtaking especially by night. Very convenient location if you want to explore the Plaka and Acropolis. We were very pleased with the front desk service who is a knowledgeable about restaurants and touristy activities. Metro recommendation was 10 out of 10. So much fun. Thank you for having us and the very sweet hotel gift!!!!
I recently stayed at Wyndham Grand Athens in one of the rooms with an Acropolis view — absolutely stunning to look at throughout the day and night. The hotel staff were truly outstanding, and I want to give a special shout-out to Niki at guest reception, who was exceptionally kind and helpful. Every interaction with the staff reflected warmth and professionalism. The hotel itself is lovely: clean rooms, spacious bathrooms, and a good amount of space overall. The rooftop breakfast was a highlight — not only was the breakfast area gorgeous, but the spread was fantastic: a generous variety of breads, eggs (prepared in different ways), bacon, sausage, salads, cheeses, cold cuts, jams, honeycomb, teas, juices — you name it. It was a great way to start the day. The restaurant in front of the hotel also deserves praise — the food was excellent and worth trying. That said, let’s be honest about the one drawback: the location. While the hotel is very well connected (close to the metro, taxis, and Uber), the surrounding neighbourhood isn’t the most desirable or charming part of Athens. If I could magically relocate this hotel to a different area, it would have been perfect. The rooftop pool was also smaller than expected compared to photos, but the ambience and view made up for it. Overall, if you’re looking for a good stay with excellent service, great food, and stunning Acropolis views, I’d definitely recommend Wyndham Grand Athens — just go in knowing the neighbourhood is not the most glamorous part of town.
Unfortunately for an apparent 5 star hotel it definitely isn’t matched to other 5 star hotels I’ve stayed in. We had booked to stay 5 nights, but only managed to stay 3 before deciding to cut my trip short and leave Greece all together. The hotel physically looks nice, lobby is clean, pool is nice and the upstairs dining has a beautiful view. The breakfast was average at best, our bathroom flooded and our room door came off on our first night. The location is absolutely horrible, the main reason we left was because we really didn’t feel safe, to talk around was scary, there was a lot of homeless and very open drug use. We booked this through luxury escape and had very high hopes but were left disappointed, and when we checked out early, we were not questioned why. A shame and I hate to say but I wouldn’t recommend.
