Old world Bavarian rambling charm and character. This hotel just goes on and on. It's cavernous and long halls lead to all manner of surprises including pools and spas. The view of the restaurant window is lovely, some of the staff are quite friendly and the grounds are nice to walk in. Pity there's no paid parking included.

This experience was not “grand”. Sadly the Grand hotel has lost it’s grace and elegance since it has not been updated in decades. Even the shower head is from the last century….. Arriving a Saturday night with 2 small kids we met unfriendly personnel who caused problems at the check in and when we asked for something to eat they could just tell us that all the cute hotel restaurants that they had on display on their website were closed and we had to go outside the hotel. They then sent us in a direction where there was only 1 restaurant and they had stopped serving food for the evening. The next day we discovered 20 restaurants only few minutes by foot in the opposite direction filled with people serving food till late hours. Clearly the hotel staff had no clue. A very sweet restaurant host at the hotel saved the evening and served us some simple food. The next day we wanted to discover the many facilities the hotel offered. Well… the grand garden is overgrown and hasn’t seen any love in years. The pool was once an oasis and could with some work be an amazing and luxurious spa area. Now it was just ok. It was all in all a sad experience at a hotel that once was grand but now is just run down. We truly hope this hotel gets saved and gets the chance to go back to its glory. Only then will I be returning with my family.

SAVE YOUR MONEY, DO NOT STAY HERE. The pictures online are basically false advertising as the hotel looks nothing like them. The rooms are old, dirty, and dingy. The bathrooms are especially a hoot... paint chipping off walls, black mould in various places, and rusty. The back courtyard is overgrown, dirty, and the fountain hadn't been used in what looked like ages. Breakfast was nothing special. We were kept awake by our neighbors for two nights and the concierge refused to help us or move us, but instead was extremely rude. WiFi is 5 EUR for 30 mins, parking is also not free. We were not given a new drinking glass for the entire duration of our stay (3 nights) so had to use the same old plastic (not even glass) drinking cup... Do yourself a favor and find another hotel to stay at!!
