Wyndham Grand Kayseri

The Wyndham Grand Kayseri is situated in center  of Kayseri city. We were lucky to to have a room with a view of the mosque and the Mount Erciyes overlooking the city. The amenities were amazing as they had a pool, hammam, gym and sauna. The breakfast was buffet style with a wide variety of Western and Turkish options including an omelette station which was served by an amazing and friendly lady. Water pressure and bed was good. Also there was air conditioning in the clean and sizable room. Whilst the receptionists / front desk didn't speak much English we managed to communicate. Mustafa at the front desk was most effective with his communication in English as he didn't steer away from it. It so happens that we did a bit of a road trip and forgot our charger there. When I contacted them via Expedia to enquire, they replied to me in English saying that they'll transfer my query to housekeeping and lost and found. They got back to me a day later saying that they had it! Our experience was through and through pleasant and made us feel comfortable from the get go. If we ever go back to that region, I will pick Wyndham Grand Kayseri.

We came in a group tour and stayed for two nights. Rooms were good, in terms of amenities, we got everything we needed. (Toothbrushes, - which quite rare in Turkey, good brand shampoo and separate conditioner, body wash and lotion, all in refillable bottles, not those annoying mini basic bottles. Location is also good, near supermarket, many eateries within walking distance. They gave 4 pillows for each room. Breakfast spread was extensive and nice. The cons: Carpet was super dirty, there were lots of hair scattered that stuck on my hotel slippers. And I know it wasn't my hair, there were blonde and brunette color, my hair is black. Super gross. The heater couldn't be adjusted, it was uncomfortably hot till morning eventhough we let the window open. (It was around 12°C outside).

I do not recommend this hotel. During our entire 7-day stay, the key cards to the rooms did not work, which was very inconvenient. The air conditioning was also out of order, which was especially unpleasant during the hot days. Above the hotel, there is a nightclub that creates extremely loud noise at night – getting any sleep was nearly impossible. When we asked the reception if they could lower the volume, they refused and laughed at us, which I consider completely unprofessional behavior. The only positive thing I can mention is the cleanliness of the rooms and the very kind and helpful cleaning lady, Fatima – her attitude was truly pleasant, unlike the rest of the staff.
