Rooms are huge. The view is not that nice with lots of construction going on nearby. Room keeping differs in quality...one day it's done super neat and tidy and the other day they forgot to refill the toilet paper. Gym is good with lots of equipment. Very close to central bus stop and train stations. The asian looking guy at the reception is smart, whimsical, and helpful.
I stayed at Wyndham Grand Salzburg and thought it was a solid hotel. If you want a clean, quiet place with friendly staff, it’s a good option. I chose it because it’s popular with other travelers. The staff were respectful and check-in was easy. The room was clean and comfortable. The view was really basic, but that didn’t matter to me. Everything worked fine. Since I had a car, the location wasn’t an issue. It was quiet at night, which I liked. The only problem was the parking. The entrance is narrow and stressful to get through. I’d stay here again because the hotel has a strong reputation and my stay went well.
We stayed at Wyndham Grand Salzburg and had quite a mixed experience. Starting with the positives, the room was fairly spacious, and the location was very convenient. It’s close to the main train station and within walking distance to many attractions, which made getting around easy. However, there were several issues that let the experience down. The room had noticeable stains on the carpet and cobwebs in the corners, suggesting it hadn’t been cleaned thoroughly. Housekeeping was also inconsistent—tissues and towels weren’t replenished during our stay, which was disappointing. One major issue was with the curtains. The set was incomplete—only one side was installed—so we couldn’t fully cover the windows. We contacted reception, and someone from housekeeping came up and said they’d return in 15 minutes. Unfortunately, no one came back that night, and we had to sleep with the windows half uncovered. The curtain was only installed the next day, but there was no follow-up from the housekeeping which kept us waiting that night. The hotel has potential thanks to its location and room size, but the service and attention to detail fell short. For the price we paid, we expected a higher standard of cleanliness and staff responsiveness.
