Wyndham Independence

Our stay at Wyndham Independence was disappointing overall, and I wouldn’t return unless major updates are made. Check-in Experience: The front desk staff member was kind, but painfully slow. She seemed new and unsure, which led to long delays. We were the only ones there initially, but by the time she finished checking us in, there was a line of 8 families behind us waiting. It set the tone for the rest of our stay. Cleanliness & Atmosphere: The hotel felt muggy and unkempt in several areas. The walk to our room was unpleasant — dirty floors, strange smells, and a musty vibe. The elevator felt unsafe, like it hadn’t been serviced in a while. It literally shook and creaked the entire ride. Pool Area: We planned to use the indoor pool, but it was foggy and had a gross look to it. We didn't feel comfortable letting our kids swim in it. Room Quality: The rooms looked visually clean, but smelled very muggy when you walked in. One of our rooms had a loose toilet seat, and the door didn’t even lock properly. There were missing pieces from the connecting doors between rooms. It didn’t feel secure or well-maintained at all. Housekeeping: When we checked in, there were dirty towels lying in the hallway — and shockingly, they were still there the next morning when we checked out. Overall: The hotel needs major improvements in maintenance, cleanliness, and staff training. Giving it 2 stars only because the staff was at least polite and the rooms looked clean on the surface. But the overall experience fell far below expectations for a Wyndham property.

My friend booked a room over the phone, we couldn’t find the location of the hotel so we called, the African American lady at the front desk with red hair is very unpleasant and unprofessional, she was rude over the phone and when we arrived , there was a long line and she was yelling at people in line and also saying how she can’t wait to get off… etc .. there’s a time and place to have conversations especially conversations that has nothing to do with work or getting guests in their rooms. Hotel overall wasn’t the best I expected this hotel to be cleaner and a more comfortable stay.

This was a setup from the beginning. I had two reservations that were made via the app. I canceled one of the rooms via the app and they couldn't find the other one. The front desk attendant was great despite the fact while checking in there was an incident on site that required Police and EMT. The door to my room was open upon arrival because in order to close it you had to slam the door shut. The security bar was holding on by one screw. The closet doors would not remain closed. The toilet seat was unstable besides the fact the toilet is only three feet off the floor. Why did the bathroom not have a vent. The tub was dirty, as well as, the duvet cover had multiple stains on it. When trying to exit the floor the elevator malfunctioned twice, to the extent that the doors would not close. There were no lights in the parking lot. The oitside pool is NOT available. While just walking through the hotel, we came upon stacks of materials in the hallway. It looks like all the banquet rooms are being redone. This entire hotel needs to be shut done and redone completely. And to add insult to injury I was a part of a family reunion that booked multiple rooms there. NEVER AGAIN IN THIS LIFETIME !!!
