Wyndham Midland Downtown

I was looking forward to sitting by the pool and relaxing, but there were no cushions available for the 2 hot metal lounge chairs. No pool towels available either. The pool water was clean but the pool was chipping and cracking. The room was clean and bed/pillows were comfy. There is not a microwave or fridge available in the room. The ice machine was out of order on 3 floors but finally located one on the pool level. No complimentary breakfast but coffee was available to go. The bathroom was small and the door was in the way of the toilet. Very awkward. Overall Ok stay but will not be back. Walkable to restaurants and bars!

Pros and Cons: First - staff was helpful, rooms were fairly clean and the beds are comfortable.Parking is free. Location is good. Cons - this is an old hotel that was just sold to Wyndham. It needs a LOT of love and updating. Most of all -- how about some truth in advertising?! The restaurant was not open. The bars are not open (at least when we were there.) The pool was green with algae. No cushions or umbrellas around the pool. VERY understaffed. Ice machines on the floors don't work. I'm not saying don't stay -- but understand what you're getting.

I stayed here with my girlfriend from July 23 to July 27 of this year. First off, the parking situation is just okay not terrible, but not great either. No one really explained where the “good” parking was when we arrived, which made things more frustrating than they needed to be. For the price we paid, the amenities were seriously lacking. But the most unacceptable part of our stay? They don’t return items left behind. My girlfriend accidentally left her Firestick in the room. We called and were told someone would get back to us. No one ever did. Here’s where it gets shady , our Netflix account showed the Firestick was used on August 1. That means someone found it and decided to keep it and use it. That’s completely unacceptable and dishonest. I don’t trust this place at all, and I definitely don’t think it’s worth the price. Honestly, you'd probably have a better experience at a basic motel because at least you know what to expect. Save your money and stay somewhere else. P.S. If you catch a whiff of Chanel perfume while you’re there, don’t trust the person wearing it because that was left behind too.
