Wyndham Orlando Resort International Drive

I think for the amount of money spent it was not worth it. The location was great. The service was great, but the room was missing the door that covers to the refrigerator. Missing lamps to the desk we have multiple rooms and the one that we reserved was not kept did love the pool area and the volleyball area, but do be careful because there is alligators and snakes, but there are signs that inform you of that by the lake. Great view from the 8th floor overlooking the pool area.

We recently stayed at the Wyndham on International Drive and it wasn’t as I expected from when I stayed there 4 years ago. Our room smelled like mildew, we had sugar ants on our night stands and on our bathroom counter. And we encountered many sounds throughout the night with guest constantly slamming doors without no remorse. We also encountered a crack on the tiles wall of the bathroom that didn’t even look like they attempted to seal it at all. Honestly, I was very distraught about the whole room experience. The room was extremely outdated: sadly. When we went to the pool, the towel racks had no towels available for the guest. Mind you, it was only 3pm and I don’t recall seeing a staff member restock on towels for the duration of our time at the pool. Not the experience that I envisioned, but at least, we were able to have a great encounter with the front desk staff members. Kevin and Farah were super sweet and professional for our entire stay. Not sure if I would stay there in the near future, but it was alright at the end.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I am writing this review within hours of arriving. The room is awful and deeply depressing. The carpet is frayed and stained. I am keeping my shoes on whilst in the room. The pattern messes with your eyes. There are ants in the bathroom and the furniture is cheap and rundown and chipped. The bed valence has pulls and is all bobbly. But the worse thing is the toilet blocked after first use bringing number 2’s floating to the top. We called reception three times and each time the phone was picked up and put down. So we walked over and explained the situation and was told an engineer would meet us in our room. Nothing as of yet. I complained to the receptionist and asked to speak to the manager and was told there was no one until maybe 8am the next day. I find that hard to believe. that the hotel does not have a manager at all times. We sat by the pool area as I could not bear to be in the room and there were cigarette buts all over the floor. Also the cushions on the sun lounges were dirty so put me off sitting on them. All in all a terrible experience and my first visit to America too. We are calling the travel agent who booked the package for us first thing tomorrow as it’s now 11pm and still no engineer to fix the toilet yet. We are both shattered as we have had a long drive and want to go to sleep but need to wait for the engineer. Nothing this hotel can say or do will make this alright. The toilet was not even cleaned out when the engineer had finished which surly is a health hazard. It looked a state. I woke up to red bugs on my bed and on the wall. We checked out even though we were booked for two nights and got another hotel further up which is superb and with a pool which I had to myself so bonus. If I had to have another night there I would have slept in the car. If you have booked this hotel, please think again. I hear they are closing down reading the other reviews on here which I think is a good thing.
