We stayed here for 3 days and 2 nights, expecting a proper 5-star service but what we got was honestly disappointing. Check-in time was clearly stated as 2 PM on the website, yet we were asked to wait nearly 30 minutes because the room wasn’t ready. After a long flight and feeling exhausted, being told to just wait with nothing more than a simple “sorry” was incredibly frustrating. This wasn’t a budget stay either. We booked a premium room, and expected a level of service to match. To make matters worse, breakfast was a letdown. The options were very limited, food presentation was messy, and nothing stood out in terms of taste. The only saving grace was the smoked salmon, which I used to make my own sandwich but even that doesn’t make up for the lack of variety and quality. For a hotel claiming to be 5-star, the overall experience felt more like a 2-star at best. We won’t be returning, and we definitely don’t recommend it.
This is the worst service you’ll experience for a 5-star hotel. Do not recommend. The facilities don’t talk to each other - nothing gets charged to the room during checkout so you’re expected to carry your wallet everywhere you go. Service is pathetic. Queries not answered, people don’t understand basic questions. The restaurant in the ground floor is run unprofessionally. The place looks fancy but they’ve built this up without adequate number or quality of staff on deck. PS: The spa was brilliant!
We’re busy adults and decided to go for a short getaway to Batam to celebrate my husband’s birthday. After booking the hotel online, I emailed the hotel directly to request a small birthday decoration and a cake in the room as a surprise for him. The staff responded to my email and confirmed they would arrange a mini set-up in the room on the third day of our stay, as requested. Upon check-in, I even reminded the receptionist about the birthday arrangement to be done on the third day. Unfortunately, the surprise never happened. There was no decoration or cake as promised. Since my husband was with me throughout the stay, I couldn’t follow up with the staff without ruining the surprise. To add to the disappointment, the receptionist also forgot to return my passport after check-in, and I had to remind her that she still had it. The room itself was underwhelming. The toilet was not clean, and the water pressure from the shower head was weak. On top of that, the shower head was not detachable, which made it even more inconvenient. Additionally, the hotel’s location is quite far from most places, which made getting around less convenient. Although there were apologies, the overall experience was unpleasant and not what I expected, especially for a special occasion. Regretfully, I will not be returning to this hotel. This review is based on my opinion and my personal experience.
