Xenia Poros Image Hotel

Located on the very best site on the island, the hotel offers stunning views of Poros Town across the bay. Make sure you request a sea-and-town view room, it is well worth the small premium. Built in 1961, the hotel was once part of the iconic Xenia hotel network which lifted Greek tourism into world class status. Designed in modernist style by one of the country’s most renowned architects, the hotel is a marvel of elegant simplicity. With its fabulous vistas and lush gardens, anything more would frankly be too much and spoil the effect. The rooms are totally renovated and super clean, with marble bathrooms, brand new AC and excellent bedding. Their decor is on the sparse side but, once again, with such excellent views framed by the large balcony doors, who needs more artwork on the walls? Breakfast is fine, in line with what you would expect from a four star property. Service is friendly and professional, always there with a smile. On top of all this, the price we paid was very competitive: 80€/night, breakfast included (June). Poros itself is a bit of a throwback to a simpler, more relaxed era. I sort of expected to see Ari Onassis and Maria Callas strolling along the quay in the evening, Christina anchored nearby in her lit-up splendor.

A very nice hotel at a great location. Nice, clean and spacious rooms. There is also a pool. If you get a room with a view you are in for a treat. Only problem is the parking that had limited number of spaces and you may need to park your car at an open space nearby belonging to the hotel. Good breakfast. However there are very limited choices for lunch and non of them are worth their money (not even close), so avoid it. Haven't tried dinner.

*** HONEST REVIEW PROTECT YOUR FAMILY HEALTH*** I always submit good reviews but this place is a piece of art. You receive two small bottles of water upon arrival and that is it. You will have to buy water from restaurant and it’s not cheap at all, you would need at least four big bottles per day, restaurant closes at night. Talked to receptionist and someone with a manager attitude jumps in (His name Iftikhar) and cold hearted said: “it’s a business! So what! It’s just a tiny baby. Why the baby is drinking too much milk anyway!” While giving psycho looks, Definitely someone who hold grudges. Nothing near by. You would have to take a boat taxi in the mornings during heatwaves far to the city center for food, water and supplies. You cannot relax, sunbath, swim and enjoy. I’m not cheap, i can buy the water. But felt like a scam to me, and I do not know who cuts water for making milk for babies to gain extra money! Balcony rails have big gap and dangerous for children. NOT SUITABLE FOR FAMILIES. 4 stars is much overrated. I pray it goes bankrupt because of the inhumanity. If you like to be locked up dehydrated and drunk on a very nice view and you can process sea water, old food, and dealing with horrible heartless staff this is the place to go!
