Xiangshan International Hotel

Stayed here as part of our Group Tour, we were fortunate enough to stay in what appeared to be a slightly ‘newer’ wing of the hotel, we enjoyed the styling of the room as it felt rather traditional but not overly dated and the shower was great. The air condition worked perfectly, actually the best AC we’ve experienced out of nearly every hotel we’ve ever stayed at, which was great considering how humid Yangshou is. The elevators get very busy with a lot of people staying (there are only 2) and be careful of the one between the hotel wings as it takes you down to a random staff area. The staff always said yellow when seeing you which was nice. Breakfast for the western guests was very limited which was a shame and a lot of the corridors smelt of smoke from Chinese guests walking through smoking despite ‘No Smoking’ signs - a couple from our group had to change room as it was such a heavy smell, which is a shame. There are some shops around too which is very helpful.

Stayed here for just one night...thankfully. The bed was sleeping on a board no give in the mattress at all. Rooms were very noisey you heard every sound in the hotel for some reason, also smelled strongly of smoke. Western breakfast was very basic, very little choice. All the furniture in the restaurant felt sticky. Staff seemed pleasant but communication difficult as no English spoken. I wouldn't pick this hotel for myself only stayed as part of a tour.

stayed here a night, just for the liu san jie show. can skip this area as the show, round and stay area is not really worth a pitstop.
