Yasaka Yutone Kyokoyado

We had an absolutely amazing one night stay in the Kurumi room. This room offered a private garden view and was on the same floor as the library that had this most amazing massage pillow! We opted to have dinner and breakfast. The dinner was chef‘s choice Kaiseki style. Every dish was thoughtfully presented and explained to us. It was many courses, but we were not overly full by the end. Many thanks to the chef! The salmon in the breakfast is the best we have had yet! They gave us yukata to wear to both meals, which was very fun. They were very soft and comfortable. The location is in the heart of the bustling tourist area, but stepping into this hotel, you instantly transported to calm and serenity with a bamboo interiors. It is surprisingly very quiet! The beds were extremely comfortable with the linens, being very soft and clean. Staff were extremely helpful, welcoming, professional, and friendly. They speak pretty good English and we were able to store our bags on the day of our reservation a little earlier than check in time.

Beautiful traditional hotel. When you enter, you remove your shoes to walk the tatami mats and wood barefoot. They take beautiful care of the hotel and are extremely welcoming. In the room you are provided with both pajamas as well as a yukata and tabi to relax in or explore the hotel a little. They have a wonderful rest area at the back of the hallway down the stairs. You can even make matcha in there! They provided juice, water and even beer in the room. They had delicious snacks as well. All free. The hospitality of this place was absolutely amazing. One of my favorite things though was the wooden bath. I relaxed in that every single moment that I could. We were also worried when we booked in a very tourist heavy area but it was extremely quiet in the hotel. I highly encourage you to try the breakfast as it is a delicious traditional style Japanese breakfast. Overall, very glad that we chose this hotel as it made our Kyoto stay amazing. I will say I did not like Kyoto that much itself so the hotel was definitely the highlight. Also recommend a short trip to Uji if you love teas, bakery and matcha!

Amazing stay. Close to many tourist sites and the service is 5 star. Plus stylist quality hair dryer, curling wand and hair straightener in room. Authentic Japanese experience. 🤍🥰
